Providence V is a unique vessel. Built from North Queensland timber, the last of the Tully rainforest, she is a replica of an American Bluenose, the boats that were among the first to compete in the America's Cup in the 1870s. Her builder, an Australian woe fought in the Korean War began building boats upon returning to Australia. He travelled to Maine to find the perfet schooner and Providence was named Providence V because he saw another four schooners en route to Maine. She is a family owned business and is 62 feet including the bowsprit, gaff-rigged schooner.

Providence V is a journey to remember. This gracious lady once was a Hollywood star in a movie entitled Survive the Savage Seas (1992) starring Ali McGraw about a trye story about a family that survived at sea for 38 days on a liferaft after their boat was upturned by killer whales.
